Okeechobee FLW Tour field to be 169

In a release today previewing the upcoming FLW Tour event at Lake Okeechobee, FLW revealed that the field for the season opener will be 169 boats, up from the 154 boats at last year's opener at Lake Toho.

The release also said that pro Michael Williamson of Fort Smith, Ark., has withdrawn from the 2016 FLW Tour due to medical reasons and that pro Rick Cotten of Guntersville, Ala., has been disqualified from the Okeechobee event, "due to an inadvertent violation of FLW Tour Rule No. 5 regarding approved practice partners."

According to the release, Cotten will fish the remaining five regular-season events on the FLW Tour. BassFan will report on this matter as more details emerge.
