Clausen hearing set for Friday

The hearing on Luke Clausen's appeal of his disqualification from the Wheeler Lake Elite Series will take place Friday, a B.A.S.S. official told BassFan today.

A specific time was not given, but the hearing will take place via conference call.

Clausen filed an appeal last Saturday after being disqualified following his failure of a truth verification test that he was randomly selected to take. The DQ was a result of a determination made by tournament director Trip Weldon that Clausen had violated the rule prohibiting competitors from receiving information from non-competitors during the tournament.

The appeals committee consists of two anglers who didn't compete in the event and one B.A.S.S. employee who's not part of the tournament staff.
