Joe Balog admits that for a long time he wasn't Gerald Swindle's biggest rooter – in his view, Swindle formerly got more air time than his performance warranted because his schtick played so well in front of the TV cameras. That outlook has changed recently, though, and Balog now considers himself a Swindle fan. That sentiment was sealed by the angler's heartfelt words in the aftermath of winning his second career Angler of the Year title.
