Hamilton will run Xpress boat in 2017

Xpress Boats, a leading aluminum fishing boat maker, announced today that Skylar Hamilton, who will be a Bassmaster Elite Series rookie in 2017 and also compete at the Bassmaster Classic at Lake Conroe, will do his fishing next season out of an Xpress X21 aluminum boat.

As of this writing, he's the only known 2017 Elite Series competitor to opt for an aluminum boat.

Xpress, a family-owned company based in Hot Springs, Ark., is the only aluminum manufacturer capable of running the large 4-stroke engines like the Yamaha 250SHO with performance on par with comparable fiberglass boats.

"Coupled with best-in-class components, performance and fishability, this is a win-win not only for Skylar, but other competitive fishermen wanting the best of all worlds at a fraction of the cost," said Rory Herndon, president of Xpress Boats.

Hamilton said his decision marks the beginning of an “epic” paradigm shift for the Elite Series and
competitive angling.

"I am ecstatic to be part of the Xpress Boats family and the future of high-performance aluminum bass boats at this level," he said.
