Report: Veteran pro Browne diagnosed with cancer

Glenn Browne, a veteran of both the FLW Tour and Elite Series, has been diagnosed with colorectal cancer and is currently undergoing treatment, according to a story published on the FLW website today.

Browne, who is 40, was diagnosed in October after experiencing stomach pain and suffering from a lack of energy at times over the summer. A visit to his hometown doctor in Ocala, Fla., and a round of blood tests led to a colonoscopy, which confirmed Browne had cancer.

Browne's prognosis is good at this point. According to the FLW report, he's received oral chemotherapy as a means to shrink the tumor in advance of a January surgery when doctors intend to remove the tumor.

Browne said he will not compete on the Tour next year, but will consider competing later in 2017 depending on how his recovery goes.
