The reigning Elite Series Angler of the Year will have a new title sponsor in 2018.
Brandon Palaniuk posted on his Instagram page Monday that Rigid Industries will remain as a “supporting partner” next year, but he’s currently seeking a title sponsor to take its place for the 2018 season.
“I will be forever grateful for the support I have received from Rigid Industries the last 6yrs (sic),” Palaniuk wrote on Instagram. “Neither one of us knew much about the other when we first started, but we believed in each other, and through business built on friendship we created something. Something that will always be a part of me. 2018 will bring new opportunities as they will no longer be my title deal, but still a supporting partner. Although I’m in the dark as to who the new title will be I am glad that Rigid helped light the way.”
Rigid began sponsoring Palaniuk in 2012, the same season the Idaho native won his first Elite Series tournament. From 2013-17, Rigid served as his title sponsor and carved out a sizable niche for LED lights in the marine market. In 2015, Rigid was acquired by Truck-Lite, a leader in the LED industry. Since then, Rigid's marketing efforts in pro bass fishing have waned.
