Bassmaster Elite Series pro Casey Ashley, the 2015 Classic champion, has inked a sponsorship deal with Georgia-based Greenfish Tackle.
"I love to work with smaller companies because they are focused on feedback from pros about the needs of anglers," Ashley said. "This won’t be someone sitting in an office somewhere saying, ‘That looks good,’ and throwing it out there, and saying, ‘Use this’ – the feedback goes both ways, and that’s what I appreciate about this opportunity with Greenfish.
"They take their time to get things right so the products are ready to fish out of the box.”
Ashley, an expert at finesse and jig fishing, will help design a signature shaky-head, which will be released at the 2018 Classic Outdoors Expo in Greenville, S.C. This will be the first of an anticipated line of signature products.
“My whole key to fishing is to keep it simple, ‘If it ain’t broke don't fix it,’” he said. “The hook will be the key standout feature of the new shaky-head. It’s going to be a light line, or a finesse style of a shaky head. It’ll be the bait you pick up to do the clean-up work.”
Ashley and Greenfish will collaborate on the already-established jig lineup with new colors and some possible new designs.
“This is a home run for the Greenfish Tackle team,” said Jon Hair, co-owner of Greenfish Tackle. “Having an angler of Ashley’s caliber right in our backyard, is great – we’ll make sure he gets in the shop and has his hand in the process to give our customers the best quality we can.”
