Kayak angler wins 100 grand

Texan Dwayne Taff earned $100,000 for winning the Kayak Bass Fishing National Championship this past weekend at Kentucky Lake.

Taff's 10 fish measured 173.5 inches, besting his closest competitor by less than 2 inches. Last year’s champion, Kurt Smits, won with 188.5 inches.

The 2-day tournament featured 750 competitors.

“The bass fishery on Kentucky Lake is world-class and the competitive spirit was incredible during some unpredictable and changing weather conditions, said Chad Hoover, host of Kayak Bassin’ TV and the tournament organizer. "This is a competitive sport and we have the top competitors here fishing for serious money.”
