Weighfish.com, a website that allows tournament directors to publish the results of their tournaments, recently released companion mobile apps. Using the Weighfish TD app, tournament directors can create live results for each tournament online, instantly updated as the weigh-in takes place.
The app also will calculate payouts and points for each tournament. Individual, team, boater/co-angler and multi-day tournaments are supported – no more writing by hand or using complicated payout spreadsheets is necessary.
The Weighfish app can be used where there is cell service and where there is not – tournament results entered while the app does not have access to cellular data or Wi-Fi will be updated on the site after the app is opened in a place where cell service is better.
“The idea for Weighfish started from seeing that most bass club websites just display excel spreadsheets or PDFs of their tournament results, if even that," said Weighfish developer Daren Scott. "There’s no ability for the fishermen to compare results across tournaments/ Also, Internet forums often advertise little open tournaments, but the results of those never get recorded in a clean format, especially not one visible to fishermen browsing online.
"Our goal is to give tournament directors of these events a simple interface to publicize their tournament results in real time.”
The app is available from the Apple and Android stores. For more information, visit www.weighfish.com.
