The threat of severe weather Thursday prompted FLW officials to cancel day 1 of competition at the Costa FLW Series Championship at Lake Guntersville. The tournament will be shortened to two days with the full field competing both days to determine pro and co-angler winners based on their cumulative weights.
Thunderstorms, coupled with high winds already in the Guntersville area, had local meteorologists warning that those conditions could spawn a tornado. The forecast for Friday and Saturday appears to be more angler-friendly.
