The Dallas Morning News recently published an article about the 35th anniversary of Lake Fork guide Mark Stevenson's catch of a 17.67-pound largemouth from Lake Fork – the fish that came to be known as Ethel of Bass Pro Shops fame. It was a state record that's since been eclipsed, but it's the authors contention that it remains the most significant freshwater catch in the history of the Lone Star State.
