Walleye cheating incident draws national coverage

A major incident of alleged cheating in a lucrative Lake Erie walleye tournament has drawn the attention of national media outlets such as Sports Illustrated and TMZ Sports.

Videos of the weigh-in at the Lake Erie Walleye Trail's final event of the 2022 season show large, egg-shaped lead weights and fish fillets being removed from walleye brought to the scale by Jacob Runyan of Ohio and Chase Cominsky of Pennsylvania, who've been dominant competitors on the circuit.

No word yet as to whether criminal charges have been filed, but they're almost certainly forthcoming.

Here's a link to a report from TMZ Sports. Warning: The accompanying videos contain graphic language.
