KVD: 2023 will be final tour season

Kevin VanDam, the winningest angler in the history of professional bass fishing, announced in a YouTube video today that he will retire from tour-level competition at the conclusion of the 2023 Bass Pro Tour season.

The 55-year-old VanDam has compiled more than $7 million in tournament earnings during his 32-year career. He's a seven-time Angler of the Year winner and a four-time Bassmaster Classic champion with a record 26 tour-level victories on his ledger.

He'll begin his final season Tuesday when he launches as part of Group B in the BPT event at the Kissimmee Chain in Florida.
