Hite recovering from bird collision at U.S. Open

Veteran MLF angler Brett Hite suffered facial injuries on Day 1 of this week's WON Bass U.S. Open at Lake Mohave. In a video he posted to Facebook, he says he was driving his boat at full speed when what he believes was a large seagull swooped down and struck him in the side of the head.

He was taken to a hospital in Bullhead City, Ariz., and it was feared that he had a ruptured eye. He took a 4-hour ambulance trip to Scottsdale near his home in Phoenix, where it was determined the eye was not ruptured. His face was stitched up and he's expected to make a full recovery.
