Ex-Bassmaster pro Romig dies in Pennsylvania

Randy Romig, an 11-time Bassmaster Classic qualifier over a 21-year period, died last week at his home in Barto, Pa. He was 73.

Romig competed in his first Classic in 1983 and his last in 2003. He was the runner-up in the 1991 event at the Chesapeake Bay that was won by the late Ken Cook.

Overall, Romig fished 161 B.A.S.S. events, finishing in the money 68 times and compiling 18 Top-10 showings.
