Cook the early leader at Pickwick NPFL event

Drew Cook caught a 22-13 stringer Wednesday to grab the initial lead in the National Professional Fishing League event at Pickwick Lake in Alabama.

“It was a good day and about what I expected,” Cook said. “I caught them pretty quick this morning and left them alone. I can’t wait to get out there tomorrow.”

Isaac Peavyhouse was in 2nd with 22-07 – a sack that was anchored by a 6 1/2-pounder.

“You need to get a big bite on a place like this, and I was fortunate to get one today,” Peavyhouse said. “Hopefully I can go out there tomorrow and get another one to keep the pace.”

Patrick Walters (20-03), John Branch (20-01) and JT Russell (19-10) completed the Top 5.
