Martin disqualified for Okeechobee event

Scott Martin will sit out this week's Bassmaster Elite Series event on his home water after B.A.S.S. announced today that he was disqualified from the tournament at Lake Okeechobee due to a violation of the no-info rule. An article on Bassmaster.com states that Martin self-reported the infraction, which he said occurred during a conversation at a marina.

Martin is the second veteran Elite Series angler to be DQ'd in three days under the same rule. Matt Herren had his 40th-place finish in last week's derby at the St. Johns River wiped out, with that ruling reportedly stemming from a conversation with his son. Herren has since announced his departure from the circuit.
