RE: Forward-facing sonar poll – Forward-facing electronics should be banned from tour-level events.
RE: Forward-facing sonar poll – I am not a fan. I love watching live tournaments. Those events where the pros are standing on the trolling motor with their heads buried into a forward-facing graph are boring. I tune out.
RE: Forward-facing sonar poll – Need to get rid of it, but it will never happen. Too much money involved.
RE: Forward-facing sonar poll – It’s just another tool that’s no different than the flasher when it came out. Some like David Fritts could use it better than others, but it didn’t mean he won every tournament. And lastly, it didn’t hurt fish populations or numbers.
RE: Forward-facing sonar poll – It's not fishing, it's playing a video game. Trying to make fishermen spend more money. It costs way too much now to fish. $100,000 for a boat, what a joke! I can catch fish without all that crap.
RE: Forward-facing sonar poll – Ban forward-facing sonar because young people will think they have to have all this modern, expensive equipment to fish. I see guys on the lake, so intent at looking at electronics, they aren't even aware of what is around me and I have to watch for them to keep them from hitting me. Fishing is about getting away from it all, to enjoy nature, to watch shad flipping on the surface, seeing odd-shaped clouds in the sky, to see critters moving about. All this advanced electronics is stripping away how anglers can learn from nature by observing. Sad. I rarely even turn on my what is considered now primitive LCR unit, just using it to navigate hazardous waters or check water surface temp. Staring at a screen just keeps your focus off what is happening around you.
RE: Forward-facing sonar poll – Educated and pressured fish will lead us to decreased ability to catch anything.
RE: Forward-facing sonar poll – Forward imaging, panoptics, mega imaging, side imaging are all tools and should be allowed.
RE: Forward-facing sonar poll – Part of the evolution.
RE: Forward-facing sonar poll – Hate to see the sport changing into a video game-type format with most of the top pros glued to forward-facing sonar.
RE: Forward-facing sonar poll – Keep it. You still need the correct bait and presentation to make fish bite. Also, at what point do we ban technology like trolling motors, 2D sonar, etc.?
Matt Robertson stripping down to his underwear was not a good look for professional bass fishing! Showed no class and makes people believe bass fishermen are a bunch of redneck hill jacks!
I just watched Edwin Evers YouTube video titled “Fishing in August." He said he would break down Sandusky Bay in Ohio but went on to talk about Saginaw Bay in Michigan. Oops! Love the videos. Thanks.
