It's pretty tough to improve on a buzzbait. After all, one of the reasons a buzzbait is so effective is that it's so simple.

But Terminator, which first introduced titanium-wire spinnerbaits to the fishing masses, has actually improved on the buzzbait design -- or at least has tweaked the buzzbait in such a way that it can catch more bass in certain situations.

With every rotation, the blade of Terminator's apt- and humorously-named Ball- Buster buzzbait smacks against a metal ball to give the lure a louder "clack" sound.

As Terminator notes, the beauty of the design is that it gives a constant sound, unlike many buzzbaits that only sound good when the rivet is about to wear out.

The Ball-Buster has a titanium frame, which should prevent extensive retuning after every strike, and its head design allows it to rise to the surface and ride over obstacles better. It also shares the premium components of all Terminator premium baits.

Until recently the Ball-Buster had been sold only though the Cabela's catalog. But because of consumer demand, Terminator is making the Ball-Buster available to all retail outlets. It only comes in 3/8-ounce and retails for roughly $7.99.
