FLW rookie Matt Herren had his worst finish of the year at last week's Kentucky Lake FLW Tour event, and in so doing opened the door in the BassFan Rookie of the Year (ROY) Race to the two Reynoldses.
Oklahoma's Jeff Reynolds and California's Jeff Reynolds (no relation) are both B.A.S.S. rookies who are fishing their final regular-season event this week: only regular-season events are counted in the BassFan ROY Race. They are separated by less than a point, and a good finish by either one could get them the ROY win.
The lone factor standing in their way will be next month's final FLW Tour event, where Herren will have a shot at redemption. In the Reynoldses favor is that there's only a 50-point spread (50 points between 1st and last places) in the B.A.S.S. event. Still, as always in fishing, anything could happen.
