California's Jared Lintner leads the BassFan Rookie of the Year (ROY) Race for the first time this year. The Bassmaster Elite Series rookie finished 27th at last week's tournament on Lake Champlain while former ROY Race leader Bill Lowen, of Ohio, posted his second-worst finish of the year (76th).
That enabled Lintner to overcome a 3-point deficit to now lead by 3 points, with just two regular-season events to go in the Elite Series season.
Oklahoma's Brad Hallman remains in 3rd while Darrin Schwenkbeck of Silver Spring, Md. and Jeff Connella Bentley, La. switch places, putting them 4th and 5th respectively.
Champlain near-winner, Chris Lane of Winter Haven, Fla., jumps up five spots to 8th in the ROY Race, after finishing 6th. And a 12th at Champlain helps Pennsylvania's Paul Hirosky jump up six spots to 13th.
After the final two Elite Series events, the only remaining events to be counted in the 2006 BassFan ROY Race are the two FLW Series events.
