Rookie sensation Derek Remitz, who fishes the Bassmaster Elite Series, certainly isn't letting up. He did stumble slightly a few weeks ago at Clear Lake, but in the very next event – the Clarks Hill Bassmaster Elite Series – he rebounded with a 5th-place finish. That marked his third Top 5 in the last four events. Wow.
The strong finish at Clarks helps him maintain his runaway lead of 17 1/2 points.
Casey Ashley finished 8th at Clarks. It was his home water, and he led after day 1, but faded each day after that. Still, the Top 12 helps him move up a spot to 2nd.
Bryan Hudgins was another rookie who made the Top 12 cut at Clarks. He finished 7th on the strength of his oddball sight-fishing bite and moves up two spots to 3rd.
Other significant movements include:
> Bryan Thrift didn't fish Clarks. He was 2nd before the event began, but falls two spots in this edition to 4th.
> Elite Series rookie Glenn Delong, who was previously 6th, finished 96th at Clarks and fell five spots to 11th.
