With three BASSMASTER Tour events fished to just one FLW Tour event, it's no surprise that B.A.S.S. rookies continue to dominate the BassFan.com Rookie of the Year Race. Florida phenom Terry Scroggins still leads, and has extended his lead over Oklahoma's Jeff Reynolds.
Rookies continue to make their presence felt on the BASSMASTER Tour. At the Harris Chain two rookies were in the Top 10 (three were in the Top 11). At Okeechobee, Scroggins won and Illinois' Chad Morgenthaler was 5th. And at Seminole, Arizona's Casey Iwai took 3rd and Washington's Luke Clausen was 4th. Japan's Morizo Shimizu was 13th.
Thanks to their high finishes, Iwai and Clausen also move up to 3rd and 4th in the rookie points. Georgia's Jody Cordell continues to be the best two-tour rookie.
Note: In the (likely) event that some B.A.S.S. rookies make the first and second field cuts, the BassFan.com Rookie of the Year Race points will be reweighted to reflect that B.A.S.S. rookies have 10 events' worth of points whereas FLW rookies only have 6. Championship points are not counted.
