In the BassFan.com Rookie of the Year Race, B.A.S.S.-only rookies still hold the Top 5 slots with Ohio's Frank Scalish in first. Again, as the BASSMASTER Tour has held four tournaments and the FLW Tour has only held half that amount, B.A.S.S. rookies are expected to dominate the point standings until the number of events levels out.
On the FLW side, though David Cochran's 12th-place finish was the best of any rookie at the Lake Wheeler FLW, Jimmi Leuthner (who finished 73rd at Wheeler) is the highest-ranked FLW-only rookie after two tournaments.
But Virginia's John Crews, who finished 32nd at Wheeler, is only 10 points behind.
