The race between BASS rookie Derek Remitz and FLW Tour rookie Bryan Thrift was a 4.30-point game a few weeks ago, but after the Bassmaster American Major at High Rock and the Wal-Mart Open at Beaver Lake, Remitz is all by himself again. He finished 44th at the American (out of 51 boats), and Thrift finished 95th at Beaver (out of 201 boats), but when it all shakes out, Remitz now leads by 19.50 points.
Other notable movements:
> Casey Ashley didn't fish the American. He retains his 3rd-place position, but now trails Remitz by nearly 38 points.
> Bryan Hudgins was previously tied with Ashley, but drops a spot to 4th. He didn't fish the American either.
> Andy Montgomery, who led day 1 at Beaver and eventually finished 5th, climbs eight spots to 5th.
