Bill Weidler, who’s ready to embark on his rookie season on the Elite Series next month, has signed with FXtreme Custom Rods and Kast King.
FXtreme Custom Rods is based in Lilburn, Ga., and makes a full gamut of casting and spinning rods for freshwater applications.
“Thoughout my career, I have fished with the best equipment,” Weidler said. “I didn’t want anything that was sub-standard. I reached out to them and the synergy was good. They were looking for some exposure and with me being new on the scene, it made sense.
“When I first put the rods in my hand, I knew it’d be a good marriage. They’re every bit as nice as anything I’d fished with in the past. They took no shortcuts on anything.”
Weidler will be pairing KastKing reels spooled with KastKing line with his new rods as part of his new partnership with KastKing, a brand held by Eposeidon, Inc., which is based on Long Island, N.Y.
