Revisiting the ill-fated Windy City Classic

It was 21 years ago that the Bassmaster Classic was staged in Chicago, with the tournament playing out on adjacent Lake Michigan. The lake was nowhere near the smallmouth fishery it is today and a lot of the peripheral stuff – such as kids throwing rocks at the competitors – was over the top. Woo Daves (pictured) was the winner with a 3-day total of 27-13.
