B.A.S.S. opens Kayak Series registration

Registration is now open for the 2022 Bassmaster Kayak Series season, which will visit fisheries in six states. For the first time, the 2022 Kayak Series will feature the Bassmaster Kayak Series Angler of the Year award, with $5,000 cash and a top-of-the-line Old Town kayak going to the angler who accumulates the most points during the regular season.

The 2022 Kayak Series schedule features five regular-season events and the Bassmaster Kayak Series Championship that will coincide with the 2022 Bassmaster Classic.

“In just two years we’ve been amazed by the growth of the series,” said B.A.S.S. Nation Director Jon Stewart, who oversees the Kayak Series. “We knew kayak fishing was experiencing major growth – that’s why we started this back in 2020. But I’m not sure we had any idea just how popular it was.

“It’s been really fun to watch anglers enjoy this trail as the sport continues to evolve.”

Here's a look at the schedule:

> Feb. 5-6 -- Lake Fork -- Alba, Texas
> March 2-3 -- Bassmaster Kayak Series Championship at Richard B. Russell Lake -- Anderson, S.C.
> March 19 -- Harris Chain of Lakes -- Leesburg, Fla.
> April 16 -- Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees -- Grove, Okla.
> May 21 -- Lewis Smith Lake -- Jasper, Ala.
> Oct. 8-9 -- Pickwick Lake -- Counce, Tenn.
