Ike Foundation launches youth trail

Ike Foundation launches youth trail

Mike Iaconelli has announced the launch of the Ike Foundation Youth Fishing Tournament Trail this spring.

The mission of The Ike Foundation is to get kids fishing and in the outdoors. The Youth Fishing Tournament Trail is an extension of that mission with the introduction of fishing from a boat.

Youths aged 8-18 of all skill levels are invited to sign up and compete in one or all three regional events. Anglers can fish from their own boat or be paired with fully vetted volunteer anglers from local bass clubs. Prizes will be awarded to the Top 3 youth anglers at each event.

Here's a look at the schedule:

> May 21 -- Lenape Lake -- Hamilton Township, NJ
> July 12 -- Lums Pond -- Bear, DE
> September 17 -- Union Lake -- Millville, NJ

It is the hope of The Ike Foundation that as participation grows, the tournaments will expand past the New Jersey/Delaware region. Youth anglers and boat captains can learn more about the trail and register for the tournaments by visiting www.theikefoundation.org/youth-tournament-trail/.
