With four Bassmaster Tour events down and just two more to go, FLW Tour rookies – who have two down and four to go – still dominate the BassFan Rookie of the Year Race, with Japan's Shinichi Fukae in the lead.
After finishing 27th at the Table Rock Bassmaster, LaBelle, Fla.'s Mark Shepard moves up five slots into 10th, and is the highest in the standings of any Bassmaster Tour rookie.
It's possible that BASS rookies are suffering from the intense back-to-back Bassmaster Tour schedule compressed into two months, but regardless, they only have two more events to move up in the BassFan Rookie Race standings. FLW rookies are fishing their third event this week, at Tennessee's Old Hickory Lake.
