After last week's FLW Tour Event on Tennessee's Old Hickory Lake, substantial movement occurs in the BassFan Rookie of the Year Race standings. Notable movement includes:
> Thanks to his 9th-place finish at Old Hickory, Ocala, Fla. FLW rookie Glenn Browne takes over the No. 1 spot. So far Browne hasn't finished below 24th, and is now has a 13-point lead over Japan's Shinichi Fukae.
> Arkansas' Ray Scheide moves up five spots into 3rd courtesy of a 29th at Old Hickory.
> An 11th at Old Hickory helps Indianapolis, Ind.'s Bill McDonald jump from 14th into 4th.
> Willard, Mo.'s Jackie Davis jumps 13 slots – from 23rd into 10th – thanks to a 14th at Old Hickory.
Because of the shifting among FLW rookies, BASS rookies Mark Shepard (LaBelle, Fla.) and Jimmy Mason (Rogersville, Ala.) each jump three places into 7th and 8th respectively. With just two Bassmaster Tour events to go in the next 2 weeks, it looks like they have the best shot at winning among BASS rookies. Could this be the first year that an FLW Tour rookie wins the BassFan Rookie Race?
