The compressed Bassmaster Tour season is now over, so BASS rookies are done as far as the cross-tour BassFan Rookie of the Year Race goes.
Though no BASS rookies had a stellar season, Mark Shepard of LaBelle, Fla. had the best and is now 10th. He has the only chance of beating FLW Tour rookies, who are only halfway through their regular season (only regular-season events are counted in the BassFan Rookie Race).
Several FLW rookies have been fishing much better than their BASS counterparts, notably Rookie Race leader Glenn Browne of Ocala, Fla. If they keep it up, this will be the first year that an FLW rookie wins the BassFan Rookie of the Year Award.
> Note: The BassFan Rookie Race only accepts true rookies, meaning those who have never fished the boater side of a tour event prior to the current season.
